How young is too young?

nebzcrd-1.jpg

It is amazing the various answers we get to this question.

We were contacted by a couple who had never had a dog and they wanted the basics. They were not sure if they were calling us too soon. The people they had talked with told them they would have to wait until the dog was a year old. Others told them 6 months. Everyone has an opinion here!

With normal “OBEDIENCE” training… This may be true! Puppies are full of energy! How can we possible get the puppy to learn word commands when we can’t hold it’s attention for more that a few minutes? YOU CAN’T!

However, DOG PSYCHOLOGY works differently! We take advantage of the dog’s BUILT IN communication methods!

The truth is… IT IS NEVER TOO SOON! Think about it… Mother dog starts setting the rules from day one! A word is never spoken… But the puppy understands.

The sooner one establishes oneself as the puppies "Pack Leader," The less problems you will have down the road!

Below is Zoe's story with pictures

Zoe 8 weeks old!

What could you possible teach and 8 week old, Terrier, Beagle, Chihuahua mix?

How about SIT and STAY!

Unbelievable!

How about the complex task of walking on a treadmill?

NOTE: 2 weeks after our visit, "Mom" (how we refer to owners!) sent a video of Zoe walking on the treadmill off leash between "Mom's" legs!

This dog is off to a great start.

Not only are the owners communication with their puppy in "IT'S" language, they are providing the "PACK LEADERSHIP" that all dogs need!

Also, the dog will be well exercised!
